clouds drift
an intake of morning breath
i am

the universe
unfathomable span
a speck of dust

and there was light
vaster the mind of God
a thought revealed

bird songs
a choir of difference stirring
through winds

grandmother
a tryst with contemplation
haiku willed

when the sunlight
sieves through tomorrow
mysteries appear

Ah, each of us is part of the 'universe,' aren't we? And there are so many 'mysteries' that make up each of us in our existence. Though we are a 'speck of dust' we are important in the 'mind of God.'

Very interesting take on the prompt which suggests that even though we are all individual really are just a small part of the family of man.

I like the way you used the form to convey individual images that then shape the whole. And I agree that, in the end, who we are is still a bit mysterious.

I enjoyed the style of this with the linked haikus that explore is a broad sense the question of who we are. Specks of dust indeed.

"and there was light" - ah, all the better to see ourselves, the "specks of dust"!

Your images remind me of times in Trinidad's rain forest. I love the final verse and the sunlight seiving through tomorrow.
