Many a group, would choose to put aside Sunday to get together to have fun, to lime; and many of these limes are All Fours Limes'. I have played card games, for as long as i can remember; with family, relatives, friends, and co-workers. Uppermost in my mind however are those lunch-time and after work games, when friendly competition games of All Fours were played. The thrill of 'hanging the opponent's Jack' which was followed by loud uproars, and sassy picong

A haiku of memories... well-written.

Long ago taught to us by our grandmothers, my husband and I have resurrected playing Canasta -- teaching family and friends who have spread the fun with others ... we play every chance we can grab a few decks and hands. Happy Sunday!

Luckily my family were great card players, this was reinforced when my wife and her family were too. So naturally all our kids grew up playing cards with outsiders saying why is your family so competitive? Despite the present computer games it is good to see my younger daughter getting her children too learning how to handle cards and be enthused too. But favorites? There are too many to list!
ReplyDeleteAll Fours game, i haven't played that before. my favourite is still gin rummy.
ReplyDeleteyour haiku brings back memories. :)
Yes I prefer cards to computer games....but must admit I do like Words with Friends.

I like this although i don't play card, there's life in there, well done Gillena
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the huge number of hours I spent playing Hearts in South Pacific jungles during one of the various wars we fought there.
