One moment of reflection towards change, towards better, towards cleaner... So much to think (and hope for) in a moment.

I always liked those crisp brown paper bags. Now they hide them under the counter.

ReplyDeleteI used my own environmental bags for some time, but now I pick up my phoned-in grocery order and they bag everything in plastic bags again. Grrr I've complained to my grocer!

Today I was struck by your blog's sub-title, particularly the phrase, 'the simple talent of appreciation...' Was it always there and I've only just noticed? Anyway, it seems to me an important thing to do, for oneself and others – at any time, and particularly during world events that seem so fearful. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteAnd this particular example gives me pleasure in many ways.
As yes, it was there from the origin. Glad it sparked your interest today

We re-used those brown bags for other things: crafts as a kid, masks in our imaginary worlds and even wrapping paper. You can't do that with plastic bags.
ReplyDeleteThose bags were so good, i want them back

Brown Paper bags are aesthetically pleasing. When I was a student I knew an artist who wallpapered her room with brown paper. Looked fabulous. It got featured in a magazine.
ReplyDeleteWow, that sounds very interesting. Thanks for dropping by Rall

Sorry I didn't make it on Sunday. But glad to be here now to read your lovely haiku. I get those paper bags sometimes when I forget to bring the reusable ones to the grocery store. They do remind me of times past.
ReplyDeleteWe take our own bags wherever we go to shop. But I agree with Bev- when we order groceries online it comes in so much plastic, it cancels out every good intention. This is an unwinnable battle!
ReplyDeleteWhere else to reflect, these days with environmental issues, than at the grocery counter! A short and important reminder. Wishing a lovely day. :)
ReplyDeleteBrown paper bags means so many things. Like pay day in some years gone by.
ReplyDeleteGood-bye plastic
ReplyDeleteMy girls used to decorate them for reuse when living abroad

Good-bye plastic
ReplyDeleteMy girls used to decorate the brown bags and I would use them again. This was when living abroad and I had to pay for each paper bag. Took the US a long time to do the same.
