Have a banana as the Chinese new year of the red monkey approaches (Feb 8) and we delve into our good and positive monkey selves.
The Chinese name of 2016 in the Chinese Horoscope calendar is Male Fire Monkey. Chinese apply Five Elements (Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth) into the Chinese calendar. Male Fire is in the Fire group. The color of Fire is connected to Red. Monkey is the calendar character corresponding to Monkey. Therefore, 2016 is the Red Fire Monkey year. Monkey is a smart, naughty, wily and vigilant animal. If you want to have good return for your money investment, then you need to outsmart the Monkey. The Monkey is lively, likable and witty.
Meanwhile, here in T&T its Carnival Sunday. Monday and Tuesday are the days for adult masquerade bands through the streets. Wishes for a Happy and Safe Carnival 2016
days of carnival -
revelers peel to barely
shimmer and beads
carnival revels -
the appeal of sunshine
as masqueraders whine
the masquerade
throngs streets of eager watchers
young and old
