hahaha...You will laugh the heck out now...I seem to be a very ancestral soul of the human clan -- I am a Monk-ey! :)
By Zodiac sign I am a Piscean -- the two fishes - the pack of contradiction!
and Gillena, whats your Zodiac sign? Ox are tough people, but too good at heart, as i know :)
and these folklores Gillena -- some like seem to hold the secrets of universe..especially the Eastern, Japanese, Chinese, Indian...i mean i have mostly read the eastern,
okay, Acquarian - my father was- a very tough person, but will weep over most sentimental movies -- i used to make fun of him (ofcourse behind his back :)
we shared a very special father-daughter relationship -- may be many of my generation was like that, but we loved so much -- was never never enough...i lost him in 2003,
Pisceans -- yes, said to have occult powers, intuitive and one of the most creative Zodiac signs...nice to know your son is, Gillena...I can imagine from the way your artitstic mind on the haiga ...do share his art sometime, Gillena...:)
"but will weep over most sentimental movies -- i used to make fun of him (ofcourse behind his back :)"
that perhaps need a note -- because he was the one who would tell us to be strong in the face of adversaries...ofcourse he himself was...but his tender heart would show through when he would watch movies....and at my young age i used to find it very funny! these days i myself get emotional sometimes...but very rarely :)
We are the, MAYBE, little universes; when you consider all the influences, human and environmental; what lost souls we would be, if we did not tap into our God head to realize our individual unique true self
ha! there again the contradiction -- My father was an athiest, who would say believe in yourself! :) and my mother was very orthodoxly religious person...may be more spiritual....and i grew up to be academically interested in an religions I could place my hands on....and spiritually bound to a guru (Sai Baba of Shirdi) whose religious identity is not known, except he was a fakir :)
You can say I am highly spiritual person...not very much religious :)
and above all my father's "believe in yourself" works fine too :)
Leaving God from the talks (i didn't want to discuss God/religion in blogs --God is a very personal matter, Gillena)
let me put it this -- What is it that you are if you can't love your fellow beings??
-- sounds simple...but Its not always easy, when geography, history, religion, politics and what not keep building walls between people....creating doubt, fear,
if that realisation of the self with God and all beings happens ---i think thats supreme joy of the soul...i have surely known that :)
but disconnected from the belief that we all emerge from the same spirit -- there's a lot of disharmony we see around....a reality that we hope will improve with time! :)
a pretty long sharing...hope you aren't bored....But beyond a sharing, i won't want to debate on anything--- all a personal belief,
"but disconnected from the belief that we all emerge from the same spirit -- there's a lot of disharmony we see around....a reality that we hope will improve with time! :)"
Exactly Gillena...God is supreme for me too...But i believe i should provide space for athiests too in my life, as I provide for believer:)
And most of my artist/poets friends in the Communist Party of India are mostly athiests...we used to discuss and debate, but now we don't -- it is meaningless..especially after knowing the human spirit :)
To put it differently -- it doesn't matter me if the one i talk to believes in God or not...like God himself doesn't care if we are believers or not -- we gain a lot of strength through the belief though...but some doen't need that -- i have seen it, they take life and death on the face and smile...my father had such a life. he died one night in sleep...peaceful smile was what we saw,
i don't know if i have that much of a courage...though i'm quite prepared :)
the conv. is going on and on....unless there is openness to accept all...there will no change in the world Gillena -- we both have it, but we put God between us...when there's really no need for that...
Good haiku, Gillena :)
