In Bird Songs
Today is my son's birthday; he got his birthday gift early since in January from me, and today, i called to wish him Happy Birthday; I used a tiny crop from one of his art pieces for the background of today's haiga.

God gave us the gift of life; it is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living well
--Voltaire
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.

Sunday Savvy 18
revisit Sunday Savvy 17
Children carnival parades on Sundays, are a treat to both the young and the old; for visitors as well as natives.
Older folk i think relive the energy of childhood play and youngs ones just enjoy themselves. Its no wonder we Trinis use the phrase 'play mas ' to refer to the action of the masquerade whether of adults or children. To masquerade is to have fun.
Times when though; children at play were scolded by knowing and wise adults to come out from the rain (well that was mostly so in the days when children's play was an outdoor activity, looong before the computer era).
The paradox today is that both adults and children ignore rain showers in the consensus of 'play mas'

Yellow Tinged
Good morning February. I always refer to February as my month; i was born on the eleventh day.
This month; month of love - of wine, roses and chocolates, when we celebrate Valentines day; month of nonconformity - some times 28 days sometimes 29; month of carnival, and the harnessing energies of the amethyst; all of this and much much more is my February
