Today's note - kireji

garbage collectors(dash) = part one
the din interludes sweet songs of morning birds = part two
I invite you to share some of your kireji expertise with me

We are still picking up after Hurricane Sandy, which swept away some of our waterfront here in New York City--but a lot less than the worst predictions! Trying to get back to normal with gasoline shortages, and still lots of people with no power (in the freezing cold!)
Thanks for the education on haiku and haiga--and I love your poems and illustrations--
I still use the traditional haiku form, just because I like the challenge, I guess...

Using materials drawn from yours, Gillena. This gives a 2:1 format, a common variation on the 1:2 format you've employed. It also illustrates the effect of doing without punctuation entirely. I think the break remains clear. What do you think?
it's so interpretive I would have seen a sweet song among irritatingn things without a single word, you're an excellent artist dear Gillena
ReplyDeleteVivian thank you for stopping by; hoping things get back to a state of normalcy soon; thank you also for your sharing

Not sure if this is right, but Sasha dislikes the sound of the garbage trucks. She usually runs to hide underneath the bed until they pass.
