I SAY/SHE SAY
I say "buy a house"
she opts for an apartment
my adult daughter
"crochet tablecloth"?
"no crochet table-center"
so i make her one
so at Christmas-time
we sit in holiday cheer
at her small table
her home-cooked meal fed
we read poems from my book
her boyfriend listens
