Carpe Diem Tan Renga Challenge #85, "the ancient woman"
the ancient woman
cherry tree blooms in old age
an event to remember
(Basho)
like a young girl she stands
strong in the wind, the old sakura
(Chèvrefeuille)
she climbs a ladder
to pick fruit sun ripened -
this old woman
Lol! I hope to be like that when I'm old.

I talked to a woman yesterday who said that in her family, girls weren't allowed to climb trees. . . that was her brother's prerogative. I hope she'll be a tree climbing wise woman elder!
