dawn stillness -
silhouettes of
banana fronds
her devious plan
Caribbean mocking bird -
'Steal The Carnival'
❧✿❧
tail feathers fan
a band of white colour seen
against the grey wall
so lightly she skips
no sound from her throttle
her beak sealed tight
❧✿❧
sound of birds tweeting
just another dawn it seems
except for 'The Plan'
lingering dawn
a super moon fading
but why her smile
❧✿❧
children unawares -
glued bits of sparkle highlight
creative ideas
all the sparkle
booty for a flock of grey
all that colour too
a few words whispered
to Rainbow -
Day Moon dims to sleep
they whistle and swoop -
already the rainbow stretched
too late too late
too much colour
much too much for grey birds
startled they fall
left there in the street
under the trampling feet
of joyous children
cloud panchayat
judging meaning and colour -

This is so beautiful Gillena, thanks so much for inviting me to look at it. Your carnival is so bright and beautiful, lovely to see the photos Here carnival is being celebrated, too, I helped a neighbour make her dress and she wore it at the parade yesterday. Hugs, Valerie
