All over the world the planet is telling us it is not happy! Just as well there are poets to record the evidence and periwinkles to cheer us up!

This poem made me smile ❤️ I love pink periwinkles and they are a common sight here! Happy Sunday, Gillena ❤️

The dust and grit are no match for the periwinkles' own grit in the face of troubles.
ReplyDeleteAha! Thanks for your appreciation Rommy

It has travelled a long way that dust. Now if you were entreprenurial you would bottle it and label it original Sahara Sand...don't laugh people here sell coloured sand in bottles:)
ReplyDeleteYes, i see what you mean, only its not collectable in such a good way.
ReplyDeleteHappy you dropped by Rall

Love that determined periwinkle! Hope the sand settles down soon. :)

A periwinkle of any colors has to be praised. Our blue periwinkles started to raise through snow

__ I fully appreciate your mystically connected words, "Resolute Value", and the feelings they do present... that comfort of being. _m

Love the determined pink periwinkle . My first thought was of the sea snail though . In this area we call the flowers vinca.
ReplyDeleteAh yes i know them by that name too. Thanks for dropping by Toni

I so enjoy the way your 'Lunch Break' writing, speaks to an aspect of what is going on in your home, Gillena. I thought the image, here, is just fab. It has a biotanical-print quality about it, that works - so well - with your words.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your appreviation Wendy

I like both poems. The one in the image I found sweeter.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week Gillena.

I love having a reason to smile... and you always come through Gillena. Just like your periwinkles! Thank you!

I prefer them 'resolute'. (Since you asked.)
ReplyDeleteOh, and the other line in that version too: 'the value of a smile'.

I can't find the 2nd tanka, but the one in the image is great.
ReplyDeleteAdelaide
As a Dutch lady, it's even harder to choose but I think I like the tanka on your drawing more... I 'feel' the word "still" in the second Tanka is a bit of a dissonant... does that make sense? Love from Holland!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by Adelaide

So sorry to hear that you are having problems with Sahara dust. It inspired a beautiful painting and a poem though. What a determined little flower.

I think there's always a reason to smile, but sometimes we have to look long and hard for it.
