respects to elders -
uncle and aunty's back yard
a sad-eyed cow moos
they bake bread
in a dung-smeared dirt oven
next door neighbours
blood relatives too

long time days

It is a lovely time of year for opened doors and sunsets/sunrises (and the occasional misty morning). Beautifully captured.

Cows do look sad, don't they? And like they are thinking profound thoughts. :)

Our world can certainly inspire us. Pity those human beings tend to destroy everything.

The haiku's imagery is beautiful. Happy Sunday. One thing to smile about today is poetry, as you say.

orange coloured clouds certainly open our eyes.
ReplyDeletethe use of 'uncle' and 'aunty' over here does not necessarily mean blood relatives. it's use to refer to any middle-age or elderly person. strange, i know. :)
I would love to be able to leave my door open and enjoy the orange coloured clouds. Gillena. Here it is grey and dreary in the aftermath of the weekend storm. I also enjoyed reading about uncle and aunty's back yard.
ReplyDeleteYes that's the way it was when i was a child.

Open doors, open windows is what I miss most when late autumn and winter arrives. Sad eyed cow and orange clouds - perfection.

I'm not usually free to listen to music links, but caught SW's calypso. It's a bleak day up here...so nice to catch a bit of Island music!
