waiting for the lid
to open breaths of freedom
once ignorance spent
suspended in time
of reflection some leave us
we mourn in deep sighs

Very nice! And, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird! I've alluded to the second way in a poem myself. And I too often think of it!
ReplyDelete"I was of three minds,
Like a tree
In which there are three blackbirds."

The rain and mask haiku somehow made me think of a sodden mask! I loved the poem, and I always enjoy my visits here.

ReplyDeletesome leave us
we mourn in deep sighs
There are times when we have to draw back and discover many possibilities of inroads to resolve our little problems before they become big. A good strategy Gillena!
