i looked on
crying silent tears

leaving behind a sigh

  1. How easy it was to visualise all the scenes in your verses. I especially loved the first as the reference to the wearing a face mask automatically dates the poem to the Covid crisis.

  2. Nice to think that we can still experience scents. I always like to have rosemary growing (because of my name, and also for its qualities including scent).

  3. Lovely. Rosemary was one of the things we lost in the last frost--looking forward to new plants scenting the backyard. :)

  15. If you can smell the rosemary, it means you probably don't have covid, so that's always lovely.

  21. I bet there were a thousand scents or more. From the aroma filled plants like your rosemary to musty wet leaves, all bring forth the feeling of spring.

  27. I like the inclusion of rosemary. It gives some imagery of the scent, and rosemary also signifies remembrance -- remembering the way things used to be, before almost everyone was wearing face masks.
