AND
remember when
the other side of the screen
we swooned
❧✿❧
remember when
in darkened hall of intrigue
those eyes held us
the other side of the screen
places called house
pit and balcony
we swooned
for that was all we could do
those cinema days

"in darkened hall of intrigue
ReplyDeletethose eyes held us"...Wow! Love this. Perfectly captured.
This took me back to the good old days of going to the cinema once or twice a week when much younger I lived in Britain. Mind you there wasn't much on TV in those years immediately after the war!
ReplyDeleteAll your words create an instant impression so economically.
ReplyDeleteI really like the closing haiku. It made me smile widely, while thinking about swooning... 😄
ReplyDeleteHappiest Sunday, Gillena.

I remember one time at age 16 I went to the movies with an uncle my age. We sat in the balcony and he smoked a couple of cigarettes. That was in Oregon, he also had his own car.
