Yep, those days of not wearing a mask sound like a distant past. Nicely captured!

Beautiful! Both poems speak so clearly of the distance between then and now. Hope things begin to improve there soon!

Things are good here but we still wear a mask. I'll be happy when we can remove them for good but for now I will keep wearing it.

So sorry it's lockdown again. Maybe you should take your kits to some little-visited spot and fly it high with your mask removed. Let your spirit fly with the kite for a bit!

Masks will probably be around for awhile. I don't mind that, especially if it keeps people safe.
ReplyDeleteI do agree. Its keeping us safe. I do not have a problem with wearing the mask.

Certainly many people will be looking back to all sorts of things with nostalgia. Kite flying seems a particularly delightful possibility.
ReplyDeleteWell hopefully we will keep our distance but thgre are so many fools in denial that ignore the advice.
ReplyDeleteWe don't walk or fly kites where there are people close. If we meet walking, at least one party will get over onto the grass. Bicycle riders don't like to ride in the grass though.
ReplyDelete..
I love the little hint of nostalgia in your haiku, Gillena, and that the kiskadee is still singing in your poetry. it’s a bank holiday over here today – it’s Monday morning – so I will wish you much love and a successful week!

Oh, live with a mask makes us treasure those days when we didn't have to wear one. May they come to us again soon.
