Love the bird image of thoughts, Gillena. Fleeing the nest somehow conjures up a tinge of sadness. In the first haiku also the word 'mask' does this in spite of the curlicues. Lovely writing.
Monogrammed masks reminds of my elderly relatives, who used to own monogrammed handkerchiefs. I guess fashion repeats itself. :) Your troiku is a great read, too.
Love the way you celebrate masks--it's a very welcome counternarrative to what I normally encounter. The poem about being ready for flight...just perfect.
Once birds learn to fly they desire to leave the nest. I have nest that were bustling with life this spring and now there are fragile remains left behind.
Some masks are very artistic!
