Oh the uncertainty we had back then. How will I breathe? What about my lipstick? Walking right past each other sometimes, unrecognizable.

Your haiku made smile. Because there is no definite knowing nowadays who is behind the mask. :-)

yes, initially, on meeting, we are unsure and hesitant to greet. but later, even with the mask on, it becomes like normal. perhaps it's the hair style, the eyewear or the clothes?

Oh, that last poem tripped something in me--avoiding seeing the past helps to salve the endless gas station present, maybe.

So true about masks.......at first I couldnt recognize anyone.....now, I think I will feel like my face is naked if we return to not wearing masks. LOL. Loved your response to the Muse prompt, too.

I always wonder if I will recognize people I've met during the pandemic, if they aren't wearing a mask. ID by eyes and hair (for those who have hair), I guess.
ReplyDeleteI really like the idea of leaves holding their own.

We are all gone now.
ReplyDeleteOnly memories remain
Most of them have gone
..
I liked your mask ditty, I smile a lot, even masked, and somehow even folk who don't know me smile back beneath their masks.

Sometimes the mask remains even when we see the face.
ReplyDeleteI never like to see an old neglected house like that. Just think of the stories it could tell but now silenced.
