what schemes lurk in her 'to do'

In our small town, I have seen only plain masks. Some of the decorated ones pictured in the big cities are creative indeed!

Your mask poems are reassuring; they are a calm acknowledgement of realities in a time of opinionated frenzy. Loved the way you made the make-up a symbol of unknown plans and intrigue!

No matter how creative the mask, they all hide the smile we cannot see and so desperately need!! Here in my world, we only wear masks when in indoor groups, which is a relief from earlier restrictions.

You know, I hadn't thought about it in that way. But you are so right. Face masks are tiny billboards.

The eyes are a mode of communication as masks hide the smile or smirk. Masks are relaxed around here in some settings. One has to be on guard though.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday! Stay safe…

Love the haiku. Don't love the masks so much but the more creative the better and during winter I actually appreciated wearing one. My fav is my Ruth Bader Ginsberg one. Think I need to pull that back out of my purse and wear it everywhere.

I've only worn a mask once since February - but then I avoid most everywhere and the trees need to recognize my face. (They are nervous when strangers come by)
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by your lady in the mirror...

Another lovely haiku, Gillena. And yes these face masks have sort of become billboards. Like printed t-shirts, we can promote all sorts...lol!
