Sunday LXVII of the series '100 ways to haiku a mask
squashed grass -
bare feet and shoes
in sync
✿
shoes empty of feet
skies in the dearth of birdsongs -
plight of refugees
✿
bombs make the loud noise
smiles left in yesterday's pace -
borders crossed in haste
✿
oh for the freedom -
of feet sripped bare to squelch mud
in rainy day fun

Tickle trot; on this cool dampened grass; bare-foot.

Love both poems: have to add masks to the list of things that I'm now running back into the house, having forgotten it. The second one amplifies the idea of breathlessness into an overwhelming pressure to continue running.

Sadly, it is becoming more difficult to remember days of unbridled joy, mud squishing between our toes … take care, Gillena.

This brought back the old memories of years gone by. Thanks Gillena! They are gone never to come back again but can be re-lived for those who care!

Yes, we long for simplicity in this world poised on the brink of madness.
