The sadness of those who have passed is balanced with the excellence of their service. I like the words your haiku (am I using the right term?) with the statue centered in the photo surrounded by the trees, like sentries of those who passed.
Chelle; yes, this haiku is a remembrance poem, we observe Memorial Day here in T&T in November, wreaths are laid at the cenotaph in an official ceremony
times when war were on purpose and people fought for a cause - makes one wonder what a legacy we, our generation, leaves back - good haiga, Gillena :)
