oh on the quote....if thoughts such as those were not passed on to us through books by those visionaries like Gibran, imagine where human 'enterprise' would have taken the world -- and ofcourse it's not for or about paper or writing poems :)
So beautiful. This photo, too, has two diagonal focuses with the trees in the background. The trees that were there make way for man's intervention. So happy I read the entire series with your various haiku/haiga.
Very nice, Gillena...praise and gratitude,
ReplyDelete"Trees are poems that earth writes upon the sky,
We fell them down and turn them into paper,
That we may record our emptiness" ~ Kahlil Gibran
Internet and blogs are a good invention...though my preference is always for books and journals,
Need to do a lot of catching up with reading..Ginko and Caribbean results, and blogs -- will do over the weekend :)

ReplyDeleteglad you popped in Dev
:)
much love
that's interesting...well there are no end to quotes on trees and nature's reserves...
ReplyDeleteOne who plants a tree...plants a hope,
and they say, the true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit,
those words are always inspirational - i think i should be planting more trees than writing poems :)

"and then you don't look upon them"
ReplyDeleteoh, to mean only that you don't burden them with your expectations... (we spoke about that expectation some time before)
just to be clear than misunderstood :)
wishes,
devika
clearly expectations can be limiting, but hope allows for a whole heap of stuff :) challenging our humanity; not so?
ReplyDeletemuch love...
Ture...the relevance of hope, as i see it, is exactly that, Gillena :)
ReplyDeleteas far as challenges: that perhaps is the way to growth, freedom and knowing one's responsibilities to others and oneself
