connecting
to the source of creation
thankfulness

the day basks in goodness
for so it was firstly made

Christmas music
there's joy in the waiting
again this year

recurring dawn birds yet
sometimes a new thrill

yellow ixoras
where bees breakfast
undisturbed

raindrops sparkle for dew
now no longer glistens

umbrella opened
rain pellets drum their song...
early morning walk

the green of the mountains
like the answer to a prayer

the young man
at the fast food outlet...
his smile

ripened avocado
no need for butter

nightfall
scent of the moon
out of reach

only the twinkle of stars
catch the fantasy of dreams

  6. Lovely... even though I saw the word "thankful" (the challenge was not to use any derivative of thankful or grateful in the poem).

A beautiful thing, this sequence of haiku! Glimpses of grateful hearts. I enjoyed the mans smile as much as the grand mountain.

  13. So many great lines! I especially like the idea of rain pellets drumming their song! I'll think of this next time I'm walking in the rain - it will make the walk much more enjoyable!
