Nice thoughts of holiday preparation, Gillena. I had to Google the Hosay massacre. I will ask my SIL if he celebrates it. I never hear him talk about it.
His great-grandfather was an indentured servant who came from India. I don't know if he 're-upped'. He did take on a new Americanized last name, "Chan". ..
How cool- my daughter with her Trini husband and children lives in Trinidad up in the Northern Range Rain Forest (Brasso Seco) and has friends in St. James. I have visited many times and become familiar with customs there. I like your painting and your poem.
None but you dear Gillena could speak the language of the drawing, wow
