a door slams in the gaze of
a pigeon cooing

The sound of that door is a tribute to the wind

I like the contrast between the loud slam and the gentle coo.
ReplyDeleteSo many actions expressed in this masterful verse!
ReplyDeleteClearly the door has heard it all before. All creatures seem to have good and bad points and pigeons are a case in point for their gentle cooing is offset by the mess they make!
ReplyDeleteWindy here as a big snow storm looms....love the wind when it is summer like weather though
ReplyDeleteLovely poem. I love the contrast between that loud slam and the gentle cooing.
ReplyDeleteThe wind slams the door so one might hear the gentle cooing..so much in so few words.
ReplyDeleteLovely Gillena.
ReplyDeleteThe wind has whistled here today, but alas no (wood) pigeons cooing.

Like the photo and your words that match it so well,

The slam and the coo make for an excellent contrast. Thank you, too, for the Cold Play.
ReplyDeleteLove the 'cooing' standing out against all these odds.
ReplyDeleteThere's a distant violence here, a memory perhaps or sense of something to come.
ReplyDeleteLove this! The contrast between the slamming of the door and the gentle cooing of the pigeon is brilliant!
