over advent candles lit
pink candle tallest
❧✿❧
dance of flames
yet down in my bones i feel
this need to sigh
over advent candles lit
a tiny bit of smokes wisps it way
up up away
pink candle tallest
rose candle of joy third week
season of Advent
❧✿❧
dance of flames
under silent ceiling fan
what the breeze wishes
yet down in my bones i feel
there is this sturdy
marrow of hope
this need to sigh
in pandemic darkness
is overwhelming
❧✿❧
over Advent candles lit
a strain of a hymn
about candles
a tiny bit of smoke wisps it way
a tell tale sign of
some things unnoticed
up up away
praises of the faithful
through the solid roof
❧✿❧
pink candle tallest
this marker will be surpassed
peace cometh
rose candle of joy third week
gaudete repeats
in hymns and praises
season of Advent
dressing majesty in robes
of our longing

Just like you our advent candles are progressively lit each Sunday. With the fewer numbers attending because of social distancing in church it is much easier to see them now!

This haiku from some days ago stopped my breath
the opened window
I sketch my mind to canvas
the colours of sky
So creative in your use of words. Also, the photo is perfect.

I hadn't heard "Jingle Bones" in years! Sort of an odd fit with the candle poems, though.
