the empty wine glass
stands forlorn empty of cheer -
some tears mingled in
a tale of evening longing -
her ruby lips pout
her broken heart weeps
to rest in dream's lore

“she denies this day” ... I love that line so much.
ReplyDeleteThis one: “her ruby lips pout” ... has me imagining a remix of Dorothy, time-traveling by smacking her lips. :)

The melancholy is so strong in your troiku. The kitty does look wistful. Great capture of the mood in the photo.
ReplyDeleteThese are all wonderful. I was there at the table with the kitty. And...in your kitchen with a mask. I heard about your oil spill. I hope it is being cleaned up quickly. xo
