image - Woodford Square, downtown Port of Spain, Trinidad

a tree blooms
all of yesterday
forgotten

now stirred
to mind across
millenia

in a country
disguised in
the hurry

of a wound
inflicted
where sand

abrases
the jar from within
and without

yellow blooms
appease a call to caring
cherish life

The first three lines form a perfect haiku in themselves, reminding me of one of my favorites from the Japanese masters.

calm days
the swift years
forgotten

Nothing blooming here, yet.

moving slowly into spring
flueries and sunshine

... and to parallel Bill:

a tree buds
past failures left behind
old leaves

And yet... the old leaves, nurture these new buds; the contrary contraries.

__A grand run here, Gillena! _m
