Happy Season of Advent
The Periwinkle - Vinca rosea - Virgin Flower, symbolism: Mary's Humility... is native to Madagascar; and widely naturalized in the tropics...If the leaves are eaten by a man and a woman together, it will cause love between them and they will stay in love all their lives...

my garden is filled with periwinkles - I did not know this lore about them! Wonderful haiku yet again

I didn't know that about Periwinkles. They are so delicate, yet hardy plants. They grow wild here in FL, but you can also purchase them. We have a few...wonder if we should eat them? :) Thanks for the history.
Periwinkle too! I love learning about all the flowers of Mary. I think someday, I will have to have a garden full of her flowers.
very nice. Visiting from Magpie Tales!
An appropriate poem for advent. Lovely.
Lovely story of the periwinkle. So romantic. I knew there was a reason why it was my favorite shade of blue.
Periwinkle.. first of all I love the flower.. the name.. and the story put extra spice on it.. thank you for sharing
Your haikus accompanying the periwinkles is profound, and I love your links on customs surrounding Our Lady.
