1855

blended easily
two hearts speaking nuances -
a tasty smoothie

sweet blessed mercies -
prescription in words holy
for promised futures

Miranda (The Tempest), John William Waterhouse

there are instances
when a boat veers in tempest -
jagged rocks appear

i think the last image of the boat in a tempest represents well the ups and downs of a relationship!

Taken together or separately, these three reveal such truth. If the middle one is true, the last can be survived. I love the image of the smoothie! Mine was less blended--more like an ice cream soda. No wonder it didn't last.

Marriage takes many courses doesn't it? Hopefully the rocks aren't too jagged.
The haiku a great choice to emphasize the different qualities.

I love the way you approached this. How fantastic to use a fruit smoothie as a metaphor for marriage. And if they're the right flavors, they're so much tastier together. :)

The whole idea of marriage is to make the couple one being, not just two people in love; so hopefully they think the same, appreciate the same things and want the same things too.
