The sound of that door is a tribute to the wind

Clearly the door has heard it all before. All creatures seem to have good and bad points and pigeons are a case in point for their gentle cooing is offset by the mess they make!

Windy here as a big snow storm looms....love the wind when it is summer like weather though

Lovely poem. I love the contrast between that loud slam and the gentle cooing.

The wind slams the door so one might hear the gentle cooing..so much in so few words.

Lovely Gillena.
The wind has whistled here today, but alas no (wood) pigeons cooing.

The slam and the coo make for an excellent contrast. Thank you, too, for the Cold Play.

Love the 'cooing' standing out against all these odds.

There's a distant violence here, a memory perhaps or sense of something to come.
