Today is a public holiday in Trinidad and Tobago
Happy Labour Day T&T
Labour Day in Trinidad and Tobago was declared an annual national holiday in 1973. Celebrated on June 19th, it is the anniversary of the day of the Butler Oilfield Riots which took place in 1937

So happens, i'm currently reading 'The Chieftain's Carnival And Other Stories' written by Michael Anthony. One of the short stories - 'Butler on the Road' is about the struggle prior to this holiday, of Fyzabad and the hero, TubalUriah Buzz Butler .

It's Father's Day.
A HAPPY DAY TO ALL FATHERS VISITING TODAY.
It's also that time of year again, when the bulbs awake and the Caladiums magically pop up. Ah the Rainy Season.

It was a toss up this week, between flowers and umbrellas, clearly umbrellas won. The Rainy Season is here, so its no more 'rain tease' or 'The Rains are coming in'

Note
Fossil remains of the domestic yak and its wild ancestor date back to the Pleistocene period. Over the past 10 000 years or so, the yak developed on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, extending over about 2.5 million sq km and often called the roof of the world

Last night was the final night of festivity for the 2017 We Beat festival, here in St James. Although mere foot steps away from it all, i didn't attend any of the events this year. Last night, after church though, i was privy to the vibe on the street.
