...In an interview with Roseliep published in 1979 Sister Mary Thomas Eulberg asked him about how a priest could be writing such evocative, sometimes erotic, love poetry. “To talk about that,” Roseliep said, “I should return for a moment to that Catholic-poetry period of mine, and I can briefly tell you how it was inevitable that I needed a fresh theme. in fact it reminds -- i once was required to write a love letter for a group of girls in my hostel while i was working -- they had some competition in college and wanted me to do...i wrote 4 some others wrote 3-4 and one of mine got the first prize...and the girls returned it to me:
i remember i wrote on it and sent it to the warden:
"Prize winning loveletter
addressee not known!
haha -- that night was superb celebration :)
