I SAY/SHE SAY

I say "buy a house"
she opts for an apartment
my adult daughter

"crochet tablecloth"?
"no crochet table-center"
so i make her one

so at Christmas-time
we sit in holiday cheer
at her small table

her home-cooked meal fed
we read poems from my book
her boyfriend listens

How nice that you can differ and still have some great time together, Gillena. I wonder what the homemade meal was.

Mothers and daughters (I have one, too) and though we disagree on a lot of things she shows me her love when she listens to my poetry. That's a wonderful thing, isn't it.
