I SAY/SHE SAY
I say "buy a house"
she opts for an apartment
my adult daughter
"crochet tablecloth"?
"no crochet table-center"
so i make her one
so at Christmas-time
we sit in holiday cheer
at her small table
her home-cooked meal fed
we read poems from my book
her boyfriend listens

Nice that your daughter will listen To your poetry. And her boyfriend too? That's too cool.
Mothers and daughters (I have one, too) and though we disagree on a lot of things she shows me her love when she listens to my poetry. That's a wonderful thing, isn't it.
