twittering birds sing
of morning light, they banish
into yesterdays
the first crowing of roosters
those of a previous dawn

Love the crowing roosters

I much prefer the twittering of birds than the crowing of roosters, believe me! They crow far too early.

Neat that the twittering birds banish the roosters, refuse left overs!

Two very distinct sounds and moods you've caught through the twitter and crow.

What you write and your art is so beautiful it's rarely something I'm able to do, but If I did I wish I were half as good as you are, and you definitely would have been my best Haiku and other stuff I can't pronounce, If I had any involvement still I five you and Doug, the best haiku haiga, what have you, awards lol

Roosters do tend to hog the pre-dawn space while others have to wait their turn.

Roosters show more resilience perhaps! Nicely Gillena!

Nice tanka Gillena, I had the idea that you were talking about Peter, who denied Jesus. Really an unique feeling this tanka gave me.
