1784

a shadowy moon
tethered in night's vast longing
a witch her sad heart

though the witch was sad
her broomstick scurried away
into the dark night

darkness engulfing
the cackle of an old witch
ruffles the cat's fur

Poor witch, I hope she cheers up.
"the cackle of an old witch
ruffles the cat's fur" - brilliant.
Great poem for Halloween with the dark spooky pictures.
