Sunday Savvy #92
Sunday Lime 1

I have, as many i’m sure, associated the holly with Christmas. And then again, three are those who say every day should be Christmas. So with no hesitation or qualms i write in response to Kristjaan’s prompt today
Carpe Diem #995 Holly

Symbolic Messages from the Holly
Let your beauty shine within even in times of dormancy
Rule the day, and let your generosity be your legacy
The energy of life is ever-present

It rained here last night, awakening to a greener landscape.

It's been raining here, too, but skies still are heavy and gray. Maybe the sun will peek through for sunset.

How right you are to say each day should be held in celebration, as if it were Christmas.

It is so nice to wake up in the freshness of a new day after a 'rain blessed night.' Lovely writing, Gillena.

What a lovely thought....yes holly is associated with Christmas and winter, but there is such beauty as it grows even now.

Thanks Mary

I like to think that the traditional use of holly in Europe is also a reminder of the crown of thorns that later would have such symbolism in Christianity.

That's a nice tanka Gillena. I knew that Holly was associated with Christmas, but its deeper meaning is for all times.

It sounds like a charming experience altogether.

Holly means Christmas to me. Bright gloss green with red berries against white snow. Sadly we have the plastic variety here for Christmas....wrong climate.!
