breath of song sing praise -
Christ we remember again
with those palms we clutch

The word Hosanna, from Hebrew culture, means save, rescue, savior. "Hosanna" was the shout of adoration made in recognition of the Messiah-ship of Jesus on his triumphal entry into Jerusalem, "Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!" It is used in the same way in Christian praise.

The blooming azaleas grow majestically through your haiku.
Just started to read your work on Masaoka. Most enjoyable and informative.
Happy Palm Sunday to you!
Magaly: those "blooming azaleas" are not mine; they are from Shiki.

Hosanna! Thank you. And the song? I listened to two different versions of the same earlier this morning. Now I like this one too.

Happy Palm Sunday. Love the haiku.
A simple palm frond can take us back to a jubilant entry into Jerusalem.
I love that this also suggests holding hands.
A lovely post and beautiful haiku - so appropriate to the day. I thought that your use of the word 'breath' in the haiku was inspired. Within the context of the piece, I found it to be emotive and nuanced.
Thank you Myrna
