My favorite great-aunt had a rosary ring she wore on the index finger of her right hand! I remember going to novenas with her, and watching her say her go through the rosary while rotating the ring. It's a very powerful (and dear) memory. Your poem brought it back. Thank you for that.
Hi Gillena. I liked reading of "Why pray the Rosary" and learned more about this prayer process. I knew of it and sort of how but didn't know of the Rosary rings. We are Baptists but if I were Catholic I would want to have the ring. One of my granddaughters became Catholic when she married one. Both of them came down with the COVID-19, he was hospitalized for almost two weeks. He came home yesterday but is still on oxygen. We have been praying for him, his and our family is praying, and many of our church as he and granddaughter are in the church prayer ministry. We have slightly over 80,000 members, 2nd Baptist of Houston. Dr. Ed Young is our leading minster at large over the seven campus churches. We have 3000 plus, the newest campus. ..
Jim i do watch some christian ministries, but i do not know of Dr Young. Sorry to hear of your family members down with Covid virus. Keep praying. I also pray for their comfort and healing mercies in Jesus mighty name.
U was bit aware of the rosary rings either. I had two very, very cear friends who were devout Catholics. I honored their faith, as they honored mine. Both are now gone to the what=-comes-after, but I am quite sure we will see each other again.
Among all these disclosures, let me add that I have Catholic cousins who used to take me to Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve when I was a young woman, and I always loved the experience.
I nearly married a Catholic, my first love, and even began instruction – but we broke up (sadly and reluctantly) because there were other ways in which we were unsuited. I think it was just as well, but remember him very kindly.
I had never seen a rosary ring .. how wonderful you have had one for so long. I converted to Catholicism before I married. Oh, I remember the Instructions, my priest was 83 years old .. Father Trombley.
Still have my Grandmother's rosary beads and scapula but never heard of a rosary ring Our Churches are still in lockdown until we reach 80% vaccination rate...it wont be long now...it would be good to go to midnight Mass this year in the Cathedral...it is always packed...you have to get there almost 2 hours before to get a seat....bit nervous to go if Covid is still about.

So I am guessing (not a very hard guess!) that saying the rosary must involve the word 'decades' – perhaps as applied to sections of it?
Yes you are correct☺
Thanks for dropping by Rosemary

Happy to hear you attended midnight mass at some time Rosemary. Midnight Masses at Christmas and Easter in the past were gorgeous events.

That used to be the scene here also. But we stopped having midnight Mass a long time ago. Instead we have an early night Mass.
Glad you dropped by
