“We need saints without cassocks, without veils - we need saints with jeans and tennis shoes. We need saints that go to the movies that listen to music, that hang out with their friends (...) We need saints that drink Coca-Cola, that eat hot dogs, that surf the internet and that listen to their iPods. We need saints that love the Eucharist, that are not afraid or embarrassed to eat a pizza or drink a beer with their friends. We need saints who love the movies, dance, sports, theatre. We need saints that are open, sociable, normal, happy companions. We need saints who are in this world and who know how to enjoy the best in this world without being callous or mundane.
We need saints.”
― Pope Francis

Is that a tradition? I've heard of planting seeds in graves to bring out a person's spirit. Love this poem!

Didn't know about planting seeds in graves for that reason

Here the Poui (yellow and pink trees) bloom near and during the Season of Easter. Traditionally this is the season celebrating The Resurrection

Happy i sparked your interest with this one Susan

"Hope of saints to rise".......yes, we need as many good hearts as can be found.....I do admire this new Pope, who seems to be tuned in to the issues that matter.

Our yellow Acacia trees are out at Easter as well. I like the Pope's example of non affluence and rejection of materialism along with his views on climate change.I do miss the red shoes though:)

There are surely saints all around us now but sadly we might have difficulty recognizing them.
However Pope Francis seems to know where they are!

I love the contrast between the flowers and the bones - both represent life but in different ways
