Moon Fest
just a curve -
what's there to smile about
weekend moon
the crowd from the bar spills out to the pavement
weekend moon -
church goers and fun sayers
share the same beat

I like how you unite 'church goers' and 'fun sayers' through the moon. Lovely haiku, Gillena!

I have these images of happy people dancing in the moonlight, thanks to your poetry ...
Amazing how many scenes the same moon sees playing out below it. Brilliant! ♥
share the same moon too...i like when it is grinning up in the sky at me...
I like the thought that church goers and fun sayers share the same beat. So very true, I think. And I would think when the crowd from the bar spills onto the pavement the moon sees that as well. Smiles.

Beautiful. Hope you have a fun-filled weekend.
These pretty patterns were enough to make me smile.
and just when I think you can't surprise me with your wit, heart, and art, you surprise me again, bravo Gillena:)
Love the abstract picture you've made from the patterns and that's a terrific poem, I could read all sorts of meanings into it.
wow- I LOVE this Gillena-I think it would make fabulous scarf or skirt!!
Bless the moon and how it affects our lives!
Oh Gillena, I Love the patterns and designs. And especially love that we share the same moon.
Those various patterns are fascinating, what a great way to emphasis the beauty of the main image, which compliments the moon poem perfectly!

I love the many moods that you created with your 'moon series.' Thank you for sharing especially your smiling moon! :)
Love this Gillena, for so many reasons... from your art to the haiku and the weekend moon that will shine here... and I'm smiling being here! :-)
The moon is a commonality all people share. We can be in different places, and look into the night sky and see the same moon, it’s true. What I love about your poem is the way you’ve captured people in the same place, in different places – from bars to church. Very clever, Gillena.
