...According to the "Anxi" theory, oolong tea had its origin in the Anxi oolong tea plant, which was discovered by a man named Sulong, Wulong, or Wuliang.
Another tale tells of a man named Wu Liang (later corrupted to Wu Long, or Oolong) who discovered oolong tea by accident when he was distracted by a deer after a hard day's tea-picking, and by the time he remembered to return to the tea it had already started to oxidize.

Beautiful, I heard of this, I think I drank me, me, drinking tea? You have great influence on me, my dear Gillena
Beautiful post, and most interesting to learn the origins of Oolong! Still, I must confess I prefer Coffee! Hugs, Valerie
I think I know the oolong tea though I've not tasted it beofre.
Oolong is the only tea I like. A Japanese art instructor introduced me to it. Nice post of background info.
The linocut is beautiful ~ wondering if you did it ?
Also lovely haiku related to tea ~ tea ceremony is also very spiritual ~ Wonderful post and photos ~ Happy Weekend ~ xoxo

for today's piece i started with a blank document, tried dirrerent colours, then chose the background colour and filled it. Then did cut outs and used different filters, to distort the shapes, in the final 3 takes i used an effect called 'magic mirror' for the final result

So very nice. I particularly like the repeating words with variation.

I like the way you linked each stanza to the next with a crafty use of repetition. I'm sure I would not be able to resist a bamboo box of Oolong tea in a quaint English shop either.
Wonderful poems, I love the creativity in this composition!
Love the digital piece, Gillena.
What a fun post... you had me walking those streets and I can almost feel and smell that cup of tea nestled in my hands...
thanks for the interesting info. Your prose is always so beautiful too!

adore how you "steeped" the Beetles in the middle of this fine poem :)
… "BeAtles" ;)
I like reading of things people have discovered. I hadn't heard of the oolongs or the like. Google will help me. Of course I liked and still do the Beatles.
Doesn't everyone? Being from the U.K. and settling London I imagine they've drunk a lot of tea. BTW, Ringo Star is coming to Houston soon to do a concert.
..
Wonderful post - and how delicious a cup of tea sounds right now! Happy PPF!
I love "vacation memoirs" - and how oolong tea was discovered!
