encased in surprise
a bud warmed by the sun rays...
if i were sunflower

children stories hold
such sunflowers crayon scrawled...
boldness of noon sun

were i sunflower
head bowed at the setting sun
reverent day ends

I always like looking at sunflowers, and yes so often they look like they have their heads bowed reverently at the end of a day.

Sunflowers are wonderful and inspiring bright spots and they do attract our attention, even when they stoop at the end of the day. Beautiful images!

Sunflowers always amaze me. How can a flower be so large? Small flowers and leaves also turn to the sun, but not as noticeably as a sunflower. And I know of no others that bow down to the ground when there is no sun. They are fascinating flowers.

I love sunflowers but have not often seen them growing. I don't know if I have noticed them bowing their heads. Neat.

I love sunflowers. I like your progression of haikus. The last one is my favorite, perhaps because I love sunsets and the reverece it evokes, even if we're not sunflowers.
