FIREWORKS

reds greens oranges
colours at pointed fingers
on a festive night

fireworks boom inky sky
he is covered in cartons

unseen to slumber
the vagrant corner sleeper
whether day or night

I love the contrasting colors here. It was a great. The mention of the inky sky made it.

It makes me think of the bums that adorn the cold street of New York City with their colorful attempts at warmth...

Even without the flashes and sparks in everyone's eyes, few would see him. But you do.

You created a stark juxtaposition between the homeless man and the firework display.

Beautiful gillena... I love fireworks even though they are a "green" hazard!

I second Kerry's comment. The beauty of the fireworks and stark greyness of the vagrant's life is startling.

While there are festivities the homeless is happy to be lying in his carton hideaway with none the world to care! Nicely Gillena!

Homelessness is very sad. We have it here as well. There is absolutely no excuse for it in countries like ours. It makes me feel ashamed.
