2011 photo - "crossing the waters to Chacachacare Island"
akin to new sites...
a novel eagerly read
draws us to this quest
vastness of the azure sky
a pirogue skims the waters
in the far distance
the much talked about lighthouse...
sea spray undaunting

One sees the vastness of the azure sky strongly, I think, especially when considering it above the vast sea. And a cool touch -- to mention the lighthouse in the distance!

How wonderful that you discovered this place because of a book! I also like the image of the sea spray and lighthouse in the distance.

love the vast space in the sky, ocean and also the sea spray..."a pirogue skims the waters" adds to the beauty...lovely Gillena :)
I think people have a need to "see far" horizons, thus our contentment with sky and sea! I feel sorry for those who never get a frequent dose of the view of which you have written.
beautiful Gillena!! its a breath of fresh air...
Wonderful that you pursued a place after reading about it in a novel. (And the name of the island is nearly musical--and such a mouthful.) Thanks for linking this.
