moments flutter by-
miserable pirouettes
are days and nights
neglected children-
spills from narrow shadows seen
from cloudy skies
forgotten laughter
stains resolute despair-
Armageddon sighs
for Hades decision
map the course of suffering-
wars and scourges

Each exquisite haiku is a gem alone. Taken together they offer a vision into a dying world. We are not there yet, I hope, not completely. I read dystopian science fiction with this kind of vision of what will be if people continue on their present course. Each has a touchstone--at least a small group--opposed. That is where this poem generates--in those--you--who offer hope.
Aha! thank you for your appreciation

How scary.. the Armageddon might be here soon.. not just haiku but a complete story
Your third haiku is especially powerful.
Depthful wisdom in each haiku, Gillena!

A well written poem. very evocative in the imagery.
Hi Gillena, technically interesting, I thought this sparkled and worked well throughout - great read - thanks With Best Wishes Scott www.scotthastie.com
Children in wartime are strange survivors. They adapt well because they are quick learners whilst parents grieve and starve while trying to feed them. Mankind alone maps the course of suffering. For all that Gillena you wordled well, please forgive me sharing my own opinions.
Negative thoughts if follow the scenario...hope for the better of our Earth... ~ Peace and Light ~
the 3rd haiku is my favorite. i can visualize that armageddon sighs. great write!
this though is so sad, it has to stop, we can stop it, I know we can, we have to
I too, like the third verse. Yet, all together these read like prophecy from long ago that has now come due...
