these wet leaves -
some of the morning rain held
in reserve

Went out for breakfast this morning with my daughter, we haven't had a morning out just the two of us for quite some time.

it's quiet,
the chrysanthemum's flowering.

...and I had a long conversation with my daughter today as well, thought she is 3000 miles away. We can each be thankful and celebrate our Sunday!
Lovely imagery!
Love the thought of the water being held...
Precious drops of water, just when we need them...
Such gorgeous imagery, Gillena!💘 Have a wonderful Sunday!💘
I love when leaves keep rain in reserve for the critters and for our delight too!

I think we need to reserve a bit of rain, to help us in times of drought.
Have to admit, the commentary brought the haiku alive.
I love the water on leaves and grass....lovely poem.
One of the joys of life is to observe nature getting on with its business of surviving its way.
Another wonderful post - your haiku: a wise little metaphor, I think.
Someone has to have waters in reserve! A good reminder, and fine image.
Oh,what an exquisite haiku! And lovely haibun too. :)

Love Basho, Love the water droplets, Love your haiku. My daughter is coming soon from Las Vegas and I, too, will be enjoying her company. Been awhile.
Nice, Gillena! I like the way you've arranged the text down the page and varied the font color. It reinforces the fall of rain.
So much said here about rain in so few words! Lovely!
