However we are under a spell of inclement weather, excessively heavy rains over the last few days have resulted in flooding and displacement to some people in some parts of the country. Emergency forces are giving every bit of their mettle to help those in need.
And, the other side of the coin so to speak is: it is not to early to turn our thoughts to Christmas here in T&T. 100 days of Christmas has creeped into and is now a part of our culture. The music works its healing magic

Today's post is an old haiga from 2009 i reposted. Though the weather today is nothing like what the haiku says. Relying on the radio for the festive vibe.
As early as October parang singers start their musical events.
Parang is a Christmas musical form the songs are about the birth of baby Jesus and present day parang singers tell of cultural happenings during the celebrations as well

I am sorry about your flooding and inclement weather. We have to hope for the October sunshine!!
Sadly we are ourselves much to blame for the weather as climate change is accelerating by our actions over the last two hundred years or so. The worst thing we are doing is mercilessly cutting down forests all over the world decimating wildlife and reducing oxygen, then there are icecaps melting as we overheat the planet. We are all in trouble.
Lovely … and I took on a bit of online translation, which is always rather edifying and fun. As well, I found the backstory quite interesting, as I had heard nothing of the flooding. All the best to you, yours and everyone struggling with the weather, there.
