in the chapel
there are some empty seats
presence
of sunlight peeping
in through the window

I like what this poem has to say about the so-called empty looking spaces, and the beautiful counterpoint they can offer.
This poem transports me to an old church when i was young, sunlight streaming in.
I love that the chapel is filled with sunlight.
I think there should always be some seats left for the sunshine.
Ah, but those empty seats are being filled by sunlight!
I want to send this to my parents--it's a beautiful reminder of the presences we see as absence but feel nearby.
Beautiful!❤️ I love how the chapel is filled with sunlight (and perhaps whispering angels) Happy Sunday, Gillena!
A lovely poem, Gillena.
I can imagine the sun taking the seats -- or Jesus.
Love sunlight peeping through!

I believe, as you probably know, with that sun light, those seats are not empty.
This was mysteriously beautiful.

Love it! This is superb. The middle 'pivot' line is stunning.
There's always a crack- that's how the light gets in

perhaps in the gathering light we leave our chapel seats empty to seek a spiritual awakening outdoors in a cathedral of sunlight!!!
I picture a place of peace.
His presence
in the chapel
sunlight on empty pews
